The goal of Lundegaard's MS Power BI tool training was to strengthen the ability of internal employees/developers to independently create reports to more effectively track and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) across agencies supporting global supply-chain-management activities.

The preparatory phase of the Power BI training included a thorough analysis of user needs and the company's environment by Lundegaard in order to tailor the training to the specific participants and their requirements. Through interviews with users, we ascertained their current knowledge, expectations and specific needs in relation to Power BI. This step allows us to take into account different levels of experience and ensure a personalised approach to training. This included a micro-audit of existing reporting.
Based on the interviews and analysis of the environment, conclusions and recommendations were prepared to inform the training itself. This document summarises the key findings and sets the strategy for subsequent training, including tailoring the content to individual user groups.
The entire preparation phase takes approximately three working days and ensures that the training is targeted, relevant and delivers maximum value to participants.
Tailor-made training
The four-day intensive training focused on practical skills and advanced techniques for working with Power BI. Participants learned how to create interactive reports and dashboards, transform and model data, and work with DAX for advanced calculations. The training covered all important areas including setting up data models, visualizations, security and publishing reports.
During the training, the participants then worked on homework, consulted with the trainer on real-life problems, and were also provided with special BI cheatsheets.

Power BI architecture, licensing models and differences between cloud solutions and on-premise installation of Power BI Report Server.
Create complex reports, visualizations and use advanced features such as drill-down, filters and mobile views.
Publish reports and dashboards, share content across the organization, and integrate with other tools.
Work with data sources, data transformation and query optimization in Power Query.
Define and apply security roles to protect data using RLS and set up security rules in DAX.
In advanced topics, attendees learned about Power BI administration, performance analysis, and leveraging premium features such as deployment pipelines and integration with other tools, including Power Automate.
