The application automates processes related to the provision of equipment and appliances for therapeutic treatment of patients in hospitals and at home. It is primarily intended to be used by prescribing physicians; professional staff of the client (sales staff, economists, service staff) and secondarily, through aggregated outputs, by health insurance companies.
Description of the solution
Our UX specialists and graphic designers prepared a prototype and graphical design of the application in accordance with client’s corporate identity guidelines. The solution is deployed on ASP.NET MVC and run on Microsoft Azure Cloud Services. Part of the project is also data migration over the last five years of operation, as to address without limitation claims, repairs, and related issuing of relevant documents. The application is unilaterally integrated with ERP SAP, to which it exports the accounting data. The application also includes print outputs, especially for health insurance companies, and data outputs that provide prerequisites for automated data transfer to health insurance portals once the client's partners launch this functionality. At the moment it is used by VZP insurance company.
Particular attention was paid to data security. The data is stored in the Microsoft Azure cloud, which meets high security requirements, including all security certifications approved by Czech legislation. Specifically, the whole database is encrypted (the database is not exposed on the Internet, communication takes place only in the datacentre) and so are the patients’ personal data. Data encryption is used, the site uses HTTPS protocol, protected by user name, password, and a security question. Administration is also accessible through the main administrator account. This account can be protected by multi-factor authentication (e.g. using a mobile phone), in addition to the standard name and password.
Simplification, clear arrangement and automation of agenda provided by company employees (product catalogue, warehouse, orders, service, rental and service invoicing) Linde Gas and prescribing physicians (applications for appliance allocation) and communication with health insurance companies through outputs generated by the application.
The pilot version of the application was created in a relatively short period of time, the public part of which, after internal presentation, testing and trial operation in the company, was presented and made available to about 200 subscribing physicians at 30 specialized places of work, 7 health insurance companies and their local departments. Internally, the application is designed for sales staff, the economic department, therapeutic specialists and service technicians. In total, the application will be actively used by 50 employees and external collaborators.
Perhaps the most tangible benefit is the comprehensive replacement of the traditionally processed agenda (hard copy system, MS Excel and MS Access) with a single web application that will bring more precision to work, reduce error rate and save time and work.
