Complete re-design of the corporate portal of Škoda Transportation.
Description of the solution
Most of the work on the facelift was done by the Lundegaard Usability team, thoroughly analysing traffic and user behavior, then modeled the user routes of traffic through the website to determine the most suitable locations where to place the product showcase of the client. Another important goal for the user interface designers was to optimize the structure of related information with regard to several very different target groups.
Afterwards, a draft design followed, which showcases the products by using new and effective product photography of the client. The website respects the visual form of the products.
The corporate portal runs on CMS LARS Vivo. Due Corporate portal driven CMS LARS Vivo. Thanks to its expandibility, we have prepared a tailored portal that goes far beyond the capabilities of a conventional boxed solution. Important elements include the reference, product and contact module, which are used for flexible and decentralized management of all products, references and relevant contact information across the whole website. Interconnecting related information allows using product information in references and vice versa, including relevant contact details, of course.
Another important feature is the company card, presenting relevant information about the subsidiary and serves as a link to the seperate website of the specific subsidiary. By linking the product module with the card, it’s also easy to find a list of products offered by the subsidiary on the website.
The main facelift objective was to present the wide range of products of all ten Skoda holding subsidiaries in a more clear and simple way. The challenge was editing the information architecture of the website for various target groups with different levels of awareness about the products. Furthermore, the aim of the solution was to enhance the overall communication of the company and thus providing the sales department a more customer-oriented tool in the form of an attractive web presentation of the company.
The main objectives of the facelift were:
- simplify the navigation to the right product information for the user
- emphasize the quality of the offered products
- present the company as a technology leader
- moving the content management to non-technical users (assistants at the individual subsidiaries of the company) based on application of a sufficiently effective tool for decentralising content management and the website structure
- strengthen confidence in the company in foreign markets (website English version was created)
A visually interesting, attractive, corporate presentation that clearly and engagingly provides information about the products and also about the company itself.
Through the complex structure and information interconnection, it is possible to very quickly and intuitively make adjustments thanks to the use of CMS LARS Vivo, and custom modules developed specifically for the Skoda web presentation.
