News from EMEA Liferay Partner Conference

We bring you fresh news from Frankfurt, where the Liferay Conference for Partners of the EMEA region took place.

Company Liferay was again at the end of last year announced by Gartner as the leader; this time in the new digital area of experience platforms, as they keep on coming up with new things. Petr Buchbauer and Martin Heran, who participated in the partner conference, dove into some details of the news. So what can we look forward to:

Modularization of the platform

Liferay continues to modularise, the releases of modules will be as of next year less dependent on issuing new versions of the platform's core (e.g. Liferay Forms). Distribution of new versions will go through Marketplace.

New products for this summer

Liferay Commerce - This module will focus on both B2B and B2B2C (B2B and B2C combinations) in the form of sales. The module will be launched in the summer in the US, and it will be available globally as of September.
Analytics Cloud is an advanced user behaviour analyzer on the Liferay DXP platform. Unlike the traditional analytics tools (such as Google Analytics), it will draw more information about identified customers. And as the name suggests, analytics will run in a Cloud, and thus it will not burden client servers.

And where the platform heads next?

In the next 12 months Liferay will focus on stronger support of the "Dockerizing" platform (Docker allows to safely run applications encapsulated in a container). The company is working on more flexible licensing terms for cloud solutions. Later next year we can expect the so-called Headless DXP, version with emphasis on JavaScript application with with support of widespread JS frameworks (e.g. React, Angluar, etc.).

Liferay platform is moving in the right direction, and we track all the news, test the betas and we're the first on the roadmap for the next season.
