Lundegaard Digital Café on Liferay platform news
The area of digital platforms has been full of life. As a Liferay partner, we are lucky enough to see all the news as one of the first companies.
Our team of developers, architects and project managers has been intensively working on projects devoted to developing digital solutions on Liferay platform. At the same time, we took part in a Liferay DevCon in Amsterdam, a large annual conference, as well as the partner CEE region conference in Budapest.
We strive to pass our hands-on experience and news directly from Liferay. For this reason, we organised an event called Lundegaard Digital Café, where we presented to our clients the platform current topics in a casual atmosphere, over a coffee and a bite.
Petr Bartoň (Lundegaard’s partner) gave the opening speech. A week prior to Lundegaard Digital Café, Petr came literally charged with information from the ITXpo symposium, organised by Gartner Company. One of the key trends Gartner presents are the very digital platforms. So everything has fallen in place.
Petr Buchbauer (Project Manager) then presented the basic viewpoint of the new platform version. Liferay DXP, its approach is suggested in its very name – it integrates web content management system with the horizontal features of the portal, through which it becomes a true Digital Experience platform.
Jirka Kadlec (Java Portal Development Lead) followed up the introduction to DXP. He named the reasons why to choose Liferay DXP, and also tried to dispel concerns about migration from the older version (6.2) to the DXP version. Jirka dove into more specific technical information, and described the possible scenarios of migration.
Petr Buchbauer concluded the presentation part, describing the news on the platform roadmap. He looked into the improved CMS and new modules for better marketing targeting, analytics, and A/B testing. The launch of a separate Liferay Commerce module will be great too, as it is a comprehensive solution for online sales.
The Q & A part of the event was very fruitful. The clients asked about many practical topics, as how to move their solutions to the next level.
We believe that the attendees took away the information they will make use of. We also learned a lot, on issues and topics companies need to look into. And, we really look forward to working on the issues with our clients. After all, addressing real-world business needs with digital technologies is what we enjoy and are what really good at.
