CMS LARS VIVO 1.2
The new version 1.2 introduces important innovations in modularity, such as improved support for mobile devices, new types of content and modules, and any other updates.
The CMS LARS Vivo 1.2 version introduces many enhancements to existing features, as well as completely new functions. Above all, this version brings a number of improvements to system architecture features and the user interface. CMS LARS Vivo 1.2 has therefore introduced a very robust platform for the development of modern web and mobile solutions.
Improved system architecture
The Vivo COM (Component Object Model) is new technology for the creation and dependency injection of programme components as re-usable elements, as part of the application framework, or, in some cases the system architecture layers, especially the application layer (as a replacement of the older DAO interface). But Vivo COM can also be used for the presentation layer (Vivo UI components may also be COM components), with automatic support of both local and remote access to the component methods for use of the RESTful interface and JSON data format. Vivo COM is therefore a real PHP-based alternative to the well-established COM (Microsoft) and EJB (Java) component technologies.
The improved modular architecture, supported by XML descriptors, for Vivo modules and the optional administration module, which provides a basic summary of modules and the functional extension included in them (entity types, contents and UI components), with the option to activate them as part of the site (extension enabling).
User reindexation of selected part of the CMS storage by the authorised user as part of the Explorer administration module, is introduced as a new option.
New types of events are added to event handling API, making it more usable for programmers to deal with the most diverse states of the system.
Improved user interface and appearance
The Ribbon bar has been added to the Explorer basic administration module, making the module easier to use. Ribbon can also be used for developing the functionality of any other modules; one way of installing Ribbon in a freestanding module is to configure it in the HR module, making the module more intuitive to use.
A new Data Grid available for use in modules, which require a view of different records. The Data Grid allows clearly arranged filtering of records, arranged by columns, fixed positioning of table headings, and enables columns to be hidden (right click on the table headings). In addition, the Data Grid makes it possible to work with tables using the keyboard (arrow keys) and facilitates step by step reading through further rows in the tables.
In viewer mode, highlighting the panels with a link to the document (components) editing facilitates a clearly arranged display of the use of individual components on the page and direct access to component editing.
New default view templates for all basic and extended content types enable clearly arranged displays, immediately after a new site has been set up. This feature can be used during prototyping of new websites directly in CMS LARS Vivo, when specific styles or templates have not been coded yet.
Improvements to existing content types and new contents
In IFrame content, further attributes can be added any time.
The new, enlarged RSS Feeds content type, which serves for registering RSS feeds in the heading of a page (tag <link rel="alternate"…/> in the page heading). RSS generation itself is a generic part of CMS LARS Vivo, which is used in this case.
Further improvements and amendments
- Possibility of random document sorting in overviews.
- Addition of new control types to the form fields validator.
- Unifying the single- and multi-content document concept. Now a general document always offers the option to add more content, up to the limit of the set configuration.
- Adding the option to choose method of sorting, as part of a component and individual components.
- Specific templates or whole error pages for error statuses (typically statuses 401, 403 and 404).
- In the document you can now define attributes of the link to it (beginning with the target for opening the link).
- More than 20 minor changes and improvements.
